About Our Ministry
These Terms and Conditions describe how The Work of Jesus Christ (“Church,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates and communicates with our community. The optional SMS messaging program described in Section 3 is governed by the Section 3 terms specifically; it requires a separate, explicit opt-in and is not a condition of these Terms, of church membership, or of participation in any other church service.

Our Mission: We are committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, building community among believers, and serving our neighbors with love and compassion. These terms help us maintain an environment that honors God and serves our church family effectively.
Ministry Services
The Work of Jesus Christ provides various ministry services including:
- Worship services and spiritual teaching
- Community events and fellowship opportunities
- Pastoral care and spiritual guidance
- Ministry programs and volunteer opportunities
- Online resources and spiritual content
Separately, we offer an optional SMS text-message notification program (described in Section 3 below). The SMS program is not a ministry service in itself; it is an optional notification channel that requires a separate, explicit opt-in and is not required for participation in any of the ministry services listed above.
Text Message Communication Terms
Service Description: Our text messaging service provides church announcements, event notifications, and important community updates to help keep our church family connected and informed.
How SMS Consent Is Obtained: Having your mobile number in our records — for the church directory, emergency contacts, donation receipts, pastoral care, or any other church purpose — does not by itself constitute consent to receive text messages. SMS consent is separate from and independent of any other agreement or relationship with the church. It is obtained only through one explicit, optional opt-in method:
- Keyword opt-in: Texting YES, START, or SUBSCRIBE to (435) 900-5648 from the mobile number you wish to enroll. SMS is entirely voluntary; reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time.
SMS Consent Is Not a Condition of Anything Else: You may attend services, become a member, donate, request pastoral care, participate in any ministry, or use any other church service without consenting to receive SMS. SMS consent applies only to the SMS program described in this Section 3 and is never a condition of these Terms generally, of church membership, of participation in any church activity, or of any other agreement, service, account, or transaction with The Work of Jesus Christ.
You confirm that you are the authorized user of the mobile phone number you enroll.
Message Types and Content:
- Service Announcements: Worship times, service changes, and special events
- Event Notifications: Community gatherings, ministry events, and church activities
- Ministry Updates: Important church news, announcements, and community information
- Emergency Communications: Urgent information affecting our church community
Message Frequency:
- Typically 2-6 messages per month under normal circumstances
- Additional messages may be sent during special events, holidays, or emergency situations
- We are committed to meaningful communication and will not overwhelm you with unnecessary messages
Opt-Out and Support:
- To Stop Messages: Reply STOP to any text message
- For Help: Reply HELP to any message or contact the church office

- Pastoral Support: Speak with any member of our pastoral team
Technical and Cost Information:
- We use Twilio, a professional messaging service, to deliver communications
- Message and data rates may apply
- Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages
- We are not responsible for carrier-related delays or delivery failures
- Message delivery depends on factors including network availability and device compatibility
Content Standards: All messages reflect Christian values and are intended to build up our church community. Content is reviewed by church leadership to ensure appropriateness and relevance.
Privacy of Mobile Information and SMS Consent: Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent data are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing, promotional, or any other purposes. The collection and handling of mobile information and SMS opt-in consent are further described in our Privacy Policy.
Participation Guidelines
Community Standards:
- Participate with respect, kindness, and Christian love
- Maintain confidentiality of personal information shared within our church community
- Support the mission and values of our church
- Report concerns or issues to church leadership appropriately
Information Accuracy
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current contact information
- Notify us promptly of changes to your phone number or contact details
- Update your communication preferences as needed
- Inform us if you no longer wish to receive certain types of communications
Privacy and Confidentiality
We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference, describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Information shared in confidence with pastoral staff is treated with pastoral privilege and confidentiality.
Acceptable Use
When participating in our communications and activities, please:
- Use services and communications for their intended church-related purposes
- Respect the rights and dignity of all community members
- Refrain from using church communications for commercial or non-church purposes
- Follow applicable laws and our church's code of conduct
- Report any misuse of church communication systems
Service Availability
While we strive to maintain consistent communication services:
- Services may be temporarily unavailable due to technical issues, maintenance, or other factors beyond our control
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted message delivery
- Church services and activities continue regardless of communication system availability
- We will make reasonable efforts to notify the community of significant service disruptions
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Church communication services are provided on an "as is" basis
- We are not liable for missed messages, delivery delays, or technical failures
- We are not responsible for carrier charges, network issues, or device compatibility problems
- Our liability is limited to discontinuing services and removing you from communications upon request
Ministry Focus: Our primary mission is spiritual ministry and community building, not technical services. Communication tools are provided as a convenience to serve our church family better.
Changes and Updates
We may update these Terms and Conditions as needed to:
- Reflect changes in our ministry practices
- Comply with legal requirements
- Improve our communication services
- Better serve our church community
Significant changes will be communicated through church announcements, our website, and direct notification.
Dispute Resolution
Biblical Approach: In keeping with biblical principles (Matthew 18:15-17), we encourage resolving any concerns or disputes through direct conversation, pastoral mediation, and Christian reconciliation before pursuing legal remedies.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, and any legal disputes will be resolved in the courts of Arizona. However, we strongly encourage using church-based conflict resolution and pastoral guidance whenever possible.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect, allowing us to continue serving our church community.
